Nangara Reserve is a 14 hectare reserve, formerly a quarry, located 3km southwest of Jindivick and adjoining the Bunyip State Park and features beautiful Jindivick walks in West Gippsland, Victoria.
Nangara means “meeting of the waters,” and the reserve forms part of the headwaters to the Labertrouche Creek that runs south west to the Tarago River and then the Bunyip Rover. Indigenous culture is an important part of the reserve and the local area.
The reserve has lots of short tracks (some steep sections) that feature art installations, interpretive signage and access to the Bunyip State Park and is a great way to explore the beautiful Jindivick walks, West Gippsland, Victoria.
The Jindivick to Nangara Bridle Trail
This horse riding track travels west from opposite West Jindivick Road along Jacksons Travel to the Jacksons Track entrance of Nangara Reserve. The trail involves road crossings so take your time and watch out for traffic along the way.
- Nangara Reserve – (2km return) – Easy, mostly flat with gentle hills, & with some steps.
- Jindivick to Nangara Bridle Trail – (1.8km one way) – horses only!.
